Trip Overview

SPITI VALLEY is a cold desert valley located high in the north eastern Himalayan mountains of Himachal Pradesh. Spiti means the land between Tibet and India. It is cut off from rest of India from November – May due to heavy snowfall and close down of Kunzum Pass (15020 Feet / 4590 Meters). It is one of the least populated region of India. We will ride on a mix of paved and unpaved road with many water crossings. Spiti has one of the best roads for an adventure motorcycle rider as this road has the title of the most “treacherous road of the world” The landscape is beautiful and changes from lush green to barren mountains to lush green again. We will visit few of the 1000 years old Buddhist monasteries, one of the highest situated village in the world, high altitude lake Chandratal and high passes upto 15000 Feet of the Himalayas.
